Prostate Side Effects Arising from Treatment
When prostate side effects are mentioned, they are mostly associated with those that arise from the treatments for prostate cancer. The range is wide, some are mild, some not so mild. But what are they?
They will generally cover these broad categories:
- erectile dysfunction
- urinary dysfunction
- bowel dysfunction
- loss of fertility
- effects due to the loss of testosterone
Side effects of prostate cancer surgery will include:
- some blood in the urine for a few days
- mild incontinence which will clear gradually
- urgent need to pass urine and a burning sensation when you do, this will also gradually clear
- dry orgasm- this should really not interfere with sex
- possible reduction in fertility.
